Top 10 worth seeing places in Turkey

When you are traveling to a country / destination on an instant group tour , or a guided package, there is not much to worry of where to visit or which places to go as your guide will give you a brief information in most cases.

However,  when you are traveling solo, or visiting a destination on a business trip,or short duration, there comes a time when you would like to know which places are highlights, which places are famous for what and where to visit what to do in those spots.

Therefore, we will make a list of top 10 worth visiting sightseeing places of Turkey, that will make your holiday a better one during your travel to Turkey.

1.) Istanbul
Istanbul is a city full of history, culture and beautiful landscapes. Our top recommendations for Istanbul would be; Hagia Sophia Museum, Blue Mosque (right across the Hagia Sophia Museum), Underground Cistern, Galata Tower (where you get a chance to observe the city in 360 degrees). A cruise to Bosphorus River that makes you feel you are standing in between Europe and Asia Continent.

2.) Safranbolu
Safranbolu town is a like an open-air museum, on the Black Sea Region of Turkey, The houses in this tiny town is what is mainly about, there is no wonder why this town is listed as UNESCO World Heritage List.

3.) Ankara (Hattusas, Hittites Location)
Ankara City itself might not be very interesting for a short time visitors of Turkey, however if you can make a few days stop over this area, we definitely recommend you to sightseeing of around the city. Inside the city however, there is a worth-visiting place called Museum of Anatolian Civilizations where you can observe some of the traces of numerous Civilizations Ruled and established right in this land itself.

4.) Cappadocia Region
Of course, we can not think of a list of the sightseeing places in Turkey without Cappadocia. Cappadocia Region is located in Center of Anatolia. This is where you can observe some of the beautiful yet natural rock formations, early Christians made churches , Goreme Open Air Museum again a UNESCO World Heritage List, paint inside the caves, underground cities and a chance to ride a hot air Balloon.

5.) Mt. Nemrut in Eastern Turkey
East Turkey is at least as historical as any other part of Turkey, if not more. Therefore we can recommend you to join a tour that is departing right from Cappadocia for 3 Days and 2 Nights to visit the Nemrut Mountain (where you catch a chance to watch one of the best sunrise of the earth), Sanliurfa, Harran Mud Houses, Birecik Bird Paradise.

I will update the list often.

Please send your comments/reviews if you have any interesting places to be listed here.
